By providing constant light pressure, occlusion, and UV protection, silicone sheets or gels can soften and flatten raised scars, reduce redness and itching, and improve scar appearance progressively over time.
These products are designed for use after initial healing is complete. They should be used for at least 3-4 months for best results. They can be removed for bathing and then reapplied. If the scar is in an obvious location (such as the face) they can be applied overnight only, but improvement may take longer in this case.
